Come to beautiful Beaver Island to learn about the 31,407 islands in the Great Lakes. Island experts will share latest Canada-U.S. information about the biodiversity of the islands, threats to that biodiversity, preventive and remedial strategies to deal with them, and first-ever identification of Priority Island Conservation Areas: those island areas with extraordinary species, communities or habitat facing threats and not yet adequately conserved. Presentations will be applicable to all islands within the Great Lakes basin. Come for dialogue and networking with others who share your passion for sustaining the unique resources that are the Great Lakes Islands. Be part of the solution, share your insights, knowledge, concerns, hopes and dreams, and help to create a framework for action to preserve the biological diversity of the islands of the Great Lakes.
