International Association for Great Lakes Research Our Lakes, Our Community is the theme of the 51st annual IAGLR conference to be held May 19-23, 2008 at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. The theme recognizes the role that communities and community organizations can play in protecting the quality and quantity of water, and the recreational and commercial value of the Great Lakes. A special emphasis will be placed on the role of First Nations communities in Great Lakes stewardship. Plenary speakers will share their experiences in working with communities to protect the Great Lakes. More than 400 platform presentations and 100 posters in the scientific sessions are expected.
