Habitat: Marshes, mudflats, shorelines

  • Similar to Greater Yellowlegs but smaller. Lesser Yellowlegs has a thinner, shorter bill and generally appears more slender and delicate.
  • An active forager in a variety of shallow-water habitats.
  • Voice is a single “yew” or “yu yu.”
