Meetings

Stakeholder Meetings
Two scoping meetings were held to draft a policy question that would guide the overall Integrated Assessment. Five subsequent workshop-style meetings were used to promote dialogue among the technical assessment teams and stakeholders and to ensure that the assessments were relevant to regional needs.

A representative from Sea Grant facilitated each meeting. Meetings generally ranged from two to six hours in length, with refreshment breaks to encourage informal discussion. Each meeting began with a welcome and introductions led by NEMCOG, a well-known and trusted organization within the region. All meetings were held at the NOAA Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary in Alpena, located in the center of the three-county region.
