Digital Photo Library Release Policy
Michigan Sea Grant releases a variety of digital photography files on a case-by-case basis for use by the media and related organizations. All photographs are copyrighted by Michigan Sea Grant College Program.
Files are suitable for print publications or web site use. Most images are approximately 5 in. x 7 in., at 300 dpi resolution. File sizes are from 4 to 2 MB.
Michigan Sea Grant reserves the right to deny usage of any photographs in the digital library collection. Photos will only be released at Michigan Sea Grant’s discretion with the following requirements:
- The photographer and/or Michigan Sea Grant Archives is credited below or adjacent to the photo.
- When space permits, please list the Michigan Sea Grant web site (www.miseagrant.umich.edu) along with our organization name. For example, this could be listed on a credits page, etc.
- All photos are for a one-time use only.
- In order to grant permission to your organization to use digital photography from Michigan Sea Grant, we require the following information:
- Name of the publication
- Date of publication
- Editor of publication or contact
- Phone number
- Email
- URL for publication
- Organization name & address
- Once the publication is published, a copy of the publication or URL
