As communications manager, my goal is to inform, educate and engage the public, stakeholders and others to help fulfill Michigan Sea Grant’s mission to enhance sustainable use of Great Lakes resources. Working collaboratively with colleagues at Michigan State University and University of Michigan, my responsibilities include program planning and reporting; identifying stakeholders’ issues, needs and impact evaluation; producing key products; supporting the work of Sea Grant educators around the state and representing the Sea Grant Extension Program.
Nineteen years of newsroom experience with increasing responsibility as a copy editor, assistant news editor, news and features editor at the Lansing State Journal. Responsible for design, editing and organization of the daily print newspaper. As features editor also contributed content by writing articles, taking photos and video, maintaining website pages and social media presence.
