- Provide the SGA and National Sea Grant Program Office with national-level impacts about communications activities/accomplishments.
- Contribute to the National Sea Grant strategic plan and implementation plan
- Identify new opportunities in public outreach, within NSG, NOAA or other organizations
- Participate in the Networks Advisory Council, a collaborative effort of the Sea Grant Association, and the Extension, Communications, Education, Fiscal Officers, and Research Administrators networks, see: NAC Meeting (PDF)
- Support collaboration and information-sharing among state Sea Grant program through the Communications List serv (sg-comm@mit.edu) managed by MIT. To subscribe: Send a message to the '-request' address of the list at mailman-request@mit.edu) containing just the word 'help' in the message body, and an email message will be sent to you with instructions.
- Assist with branding and program promotion by using the logos, banners, fact sheets and other materials with consistent messages and graphics, see links and resources.
- Organize and/or participate in professional conferences (e.g., Sea Grant Week) designed to help facilitate interaction among those in the communications and other networks and provide opportunities for professional development.
