Integrated Assessment Project Roles

The following are the primary roles of the project leaders, specialists and participants:

  • Stakeholders (Participants): Anyone affected by or interested in the issue, including community, business and government leaders and representatives from different user groups (e.g., anglers) or citizen groups (e.g., lake association).
  • Principal Investigator: Coordinator of the assessment who helps integrate the results.
  • Outreach Coordinator: Specialist with community connections who helps identify, engage and maintain contact with stakeholders, agencies and the media.
  • Agency Sponsor: One or several natural resource managers or policy-makers who plan to use the results of the assessment. They help determine the focus and scope of the project.
  • Technical Assessment Team: Inter-disciplinary team(s) of scientists that gathers and analyzes data needed for the assessment.
