Rapidly Changing Great Lakes

Michigan Today magazine recently published an electronic slide show, video and article about the rapid changes in the Great Lakes ecosystem.

Writer Jim Erickson interviewed Dave Jude, UM fishery biologist and researcher at the School of Natural Resources and Environment. Jude has observed the impact that various invasive species have had upon the Great Lakes ecosystem. Erickson joined Jude aboard the R/V Laurentian and noted the rapid changes in the ecosystem due to the invasion of Zebra and Quagga Mussels. Previously, Jude received support from Michigan Sea Grant to investigate the invasive fish, the Round Goby.

Michigan Sea Grant provided Erickson with photos and background information for the multimedia package.
